Short Grain White Rice also known as Pearl Rice that sticks together when it is cooked.

Ingredients

Enriched Short Grain Rice [Rice, Niacin, Iron (Ferric Orthophosphate), Thiamin (Thiamin Mononitrate), Folic Acid].

Directions

Traditional preparation method (makes 6 servings). 1. in a sauce pan bring to a boil 3 cups of water and 2 teaspoons salt (optional). Add 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil, margarine or olive oil (optional). 2. add 2 cups of sello rojo rice, stir. 3. lower the heat to medium, leave uncovered until water is just below the top of the rice. 4. stir, cover, and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring again after 10-15 minutes. For softer rice use more water. For firmer rice use less water.
